Finishing up some projects from 2024 and reflecting back.

In 2024 we did some

-initial exploratory sessions to help clients vision the landscape they want,

-tours of restoration work done on local ecosystems in order to develop

a more clear vision,

-general ecosystem & property surveys,

-ecological interpretation,

-burning and planning,

-forest survey and plan development,

-lots of mapping,

-organic invasive species control,

-gully rehabilitation,

-soil & ecosystem restoration,

-tree health diagnosis & care,

-soil nutrient & bacterial testing,

-tree & shrub planting,

-tree thinning,

-chainsaw safety training,

-native forb & grass seedings,

-forest gardening,

-edge feathering,

-deer habitat management for hunting,

-trail design, layout, & maintenance,

-lots of training for ecosystem restoration,

-mushroom ID,

-plant medicine processing & tincture making,

-archeological investigation & interpretation, and more.

-A couple of us even went to workshops together.

-And one of you hosted a woodland restoration workshop!

Want to share gratitude to all the clients. Thank you 😊

The natural world is vulnerable and facing many threats in today's world. Looking back 200 years ago we see how much is lost and get an idea of what the land could be like if the trend continues. The work we are doing is reversing this trend by restoring health to ecosystems and will be noticeable many decades later.

Scientists are saying that ecosystem restoration is one of the best defenses for a changing climate. Restored ecosystems will weather the changes better and come out more intact than a degraded system. They are also saying restored ecosystems will likely be species refuges whereas degraded systems will likely not be able to support many of the older native species. The increased productivity of the restored ecosystem allows more carbon to be sequestered and put into the soil, which is a long-term carbon sink and increases ecosystem productivity.

Together we are creating biological sanctuaries of health that will radiate out into the surrounding landscape to include many impacts we will never understand. The land & biology see us and are thankful as well. The deer are raising their young there now and the turkey will be sitting on eggs soon. The land and biology are yearning for healthy human connection.

Together we are growing our connection to the land. Connecting with the land has therapeutic and spiritual value that improves our personal health. This has many impacts that radiate out as well. Restoring biodiversity in the ecosystems we live in buffers us (people, plants, wildlife) from pathogens and improves our recovery time when ill. Working all the way into our bones. We are one. The work we are doing is more-than-kinda critical for the future benefit of humans and all of biology. We are doing it together!

Many Thanks to You's.

Let's have a wonderful 2025.
